COFFEE
FOOTPRINT

STEP 1: MEASURE

Analysis of your green bean coffee purchasing, the type of coffee and the farms/co-operatives from which you buy, the weight and total number of containers you ship in accompanied by the location of the ports they have come from and finally the electricity and gas used in roasting your coffee.

STEP 2: REDUCE

Sourcing a greater volume of your coffee from Fairtrade Organic certified farms, locating your roastery as close as possible to port, switching to renewable energy sources and financially assisting the plantations to reduce their carbon footprint will have a big impact on your coffee footprint.

STEP 3: OFFSET

Inevitably after all this incredible work you might still have some carbon remaining and this is where we look to offset this remaining carbon through REDD+ projects in coffee producing countries.
The project in Vietnam has the capability to offset approximately 50,000 tonnes of CO2 every year for the next 30 years, as well as helping to conserve the homes of threatened species.
